Ok.. I went to the local Ford dealer for the recall on my camshaft sensor and when I got the truck back the invoice stated that my mechanical fuel pump was leaking and some orange oil seals were leaking too. Both of these problems are located in the same area on the engine. Can anyone offer any help on this problem? Where is the mechanical fuel pump and where are these orange seals? Is this something I might be able to fix or should I pay the $800 to get it fixed by the dealer? Thanks.

800 seems like a lot. Do you have paperwork? How much was it in parts and how much in labor?

Thanks for the reply.
No paperwork and no breakdown on labor and parts. The Ford service guy just jotted it down on the sensor invoice that they gave me when I picked up my truck. He showed me the mechanics "finding" sheet which stated what he saw while performing the recall service. I asked the service guy what it would cost to fix the problem found and that's when he told me around $800 after he looked it up in his book.

They sure don't want you to know exactly what is going on do they?:dunno:

One of the techs should be able to chime in soon.
