Hello everybody,
Well...while trying to remove the top mounted fuel filter cap, I managed to completely destroy the plastic nut that you unscrew it with, yep---sheared it right off!!! I'm sure it was because of a manufacturing defect in the plastic cap, and not because the last time I put it back on, I torqued the hell out of it.
Anyway does anyone have a surefire way to get the cap off now? I thought about trying to tap it with a hammer and screwdriver, or maybe putting a couple of screws across from each other in the top and using something to try and twist it off. I ordered a new billet one from Elite and I have a few days to try and figure this out before it gets here.
