IS IT COMMON ON A 05 6.0 FOR THE HIGH VOLUME OIL PUMP TO NEED TO BE REPLACED????? TRUCK HAS 85,000 MILES .
The were some differences on the High Pressure Oil Pump (HPOP) on the 05's, which had some problems. Specifically, the branch tubing and quick disconnect were prone to leaking. I'm not sure if they had a higher than normal failure rate, but I don't think they do.

I have an 06 6.0 and I just had the STC fittings fail, asked the dealer how often these fittings fail, he said they put an upgraded part and should not have any problems. I also asked him about the pump itself and he said the later models dont have problems with the unit. Hope this helps.
