Well I just changed my oil....Drained it hot, went in for about an hour and piddled 'til the engine cooled off some.
Put ~2 qts in the filter..actually I spilled probably 1/4 qt on the damn floor...

Went up top and put in 3 gallons...so ~14 qts altogether, which is what I usually put in...I drove the truck around a while....

Checked the dipstick...and now it's magically above the crosshatch??? Smelled of it, no signs of diesel or anything....

ideas? have I lost my mind?? :confused:

Check your dipstick for a part number:

(quoted from PSD part numbers):
Dipstick part numbers: (If yours is stamped 1820068C1, REPLACE IT!, it reads 2 qts too low!!!)
(Ford) F4TZ-6750-E (F-Series)
(Navistar) 1824405C1

Cool thanks alberta. I had read some before about dipsticks not reading correctly, but never got too deep into it because i never saw any part #'s, etc.

I'll hafta take a look and see

No wonder that sonnuva gun showed overfull!
I got the 1820068C1!
Callin' my boys down at the ih house tomorrow.

No sweat man, I'm just glad it was something minor, especially after the suffering you had with your injectors.
