I hope this is not covered somewhere here and I missed it. I did look. I am doing my first oil cooler and found something in the cover I do not like. Have you guys seen this before? I may weld this hole shut to prevent an external leak. It looks like it might be centered between the 2 orings like it is supposed to be there. Thanks in advance for the help. Hope I attach this picture correctly

I had never noticed that before may be some kind of tattle tale weep hole like on a waterpump maybe.

That's a weep hole. It's suppose to be there. The directions in an OEM oil cooler kit will tell you to make sure that hole is cleaned out. Obviously yours is since you have a paper clip pushed through it.
