Let's see or hear about them OBS mods!! Big or small post 'em all. Whether you ghetto chromed your valve stems or patented a functioning flux capacitor I wanna know about it!! Lifts, swaps, conversions, wheels, tires, injectors, fuel, oil, turbos, chips, tuners, intakes, exhaust, bumpers, suspension, lights, electrical, mechanical, interior, exterior, audio, visual, *******, hillbilly, hitech, lowtech, home built, store bought, big budget, no budget, low budget, bolt on, stick on or spray on, this is your chance to brag some about what you did that made you proud...or not so much if it failed miserably but let's see or hear about the fails too!!

Don't matter if you did it this morning or ten years ago. Even if you have already posted your mod elsewhere and you think everyone knows about it, post it up again!!

If you glued a 12' CB whip to the middle of your hood and you think that makes your truck worthy of a cover shoot for Diesel Power Mag then I'm talkin to you too!!

No rules other than don't be mean and make fun of someone else's contraption. If it makes the pilot smile then it's a cool mod, roger? Having said that, chatter it up!! Questions, comments, concerns, compliments and condolensces welcome!!!!!!!!!!

If you are gonna post pics, make them detailed close ups of whatever you did that blew your hair back. Don't tell everyone that you installed a fuel pressure gauge then show a glam shot of your truck from 30' away. That's what the OBS pic thread is for. Get in there and show the nitty gritty!

Here's one of mine:

5" homebuilt blow pipe. I guess that would be "audio"? :hehe:

Dude...seriously, that is dedication to cleanliness. You do custom work? :hehe:

Garrett, you gotta post them pics of the dump you found under your seats...especially the minnows!!! :hehe: :hehe:
Oh BTW, I was the first one to come up with the idea of the switch to bypass the parking brake for the AIC, you are infringing on my idea! :D
:hehe: :hehe: :hehe: :hehe:
My minnow mod. :hehe:

And the rust mod

Took all night to clean the carpet, and it looks ALOT better now... But still needs some more TLC. And I just changed the seats, and delt with that crap.

Thanks! I mostly used Resolve carpet cleaner (till I ran out) then I mixed a little shampoo from our carpet shampooer with water to finish up (little dab of shampoo, lot of water).

Very nice Bill, How does the one touch down work for you? I thought about such a modification!
It's great, but took getting used to. OBS didn't have it, but the SD did.
A quick tap "down" makes it go automatically, touching up or down will stop it. If you want manual mode, just hold the down button
Thanks Bill :thumb:
Garrett, are the signal mirrors heated as well?
low budget soundproofing

IDM mod resistor replacement

Where did you get this at? I want one bad but cant find em
I got the keypad out of a late 90's Explorer. The scary part is cutting the hole in the door. If you mess it up, you're going back to the wrecker to find a door. :eek:hnoes:
how hard was that to wire up and make work right??? does it open both/all the doors?

The big job was to add RKE to the truck, since it didn't have it. If a truck has RKE, you basically run 8 wires to the door and install the keypad.
After you enter the 5-digit code, the driver's door unlocks, pressing <3-4> will unlock all other doors. Simultaneously pressing <7-8> and <9-0> will lock all the doors. I think <5-6> pops the trunk :hehe: Entering the factory code, then holding <1-2> for 2 seconds will allow you to enter a personal code.

Verdict time... easier to splice in an RKE harness or try and find an OBS harness w/RKE and swap it? I bet I could almost do the harness swap without pulling the dash...

The PITA is that the OBS has the power window/lock harness behind everything. It's right along the bottom of the windshield. I popped out the instrument cluster to get to it and modify it. I will pull the dash on my project truck when the time comes.
why do some of you have coolant filters?

Tell ya what, you have done several things I want done on my rig. Come on down, I'll supply the parts, garage, food, room, and adult beverage of your choice :D

Casting sand remains in the block after manufacturing. A filter traps some of it helping the cooling system and water pump live longer.

Hmmmm...You want it done, you bring the truck over here. :hehe:
