I've been reading about the fpr shim. I read the thread about actually doing the mod and it says that fp shoul be around 70psi. Is this at idle? I'm running about 35-40 at idle. Will the higher pressure smooth out the idle and do somthing with the throttle response?

well, I did it anyway. Fuel pressure is 63-67 at idle and goes up to 83 at 2000rpm. The idle is still erratic, but smoother and I haven't noticed anythig with the throttle response.

Your fuel PSI will be erratic no matter what you do as long as you have the OEM mechanical lift pump. The cam shaft is what drives the pump.

The only way to get a constant fuel PSI is to install an e-fuel system with a regulated return.

Does your truck run better with the fpr shim?

I wouldn't say that it runs any better, but it did seem to smooth out the idle a little. I'm still curious about checking the pressure at idle or at speed

There's a certain idle pressure and certain at-speed pressure; I cant remember the exact numbers though. Somebody will post soon tho.
