I have a 04 6.0 with exhaust, intake and edge. Whenever i get on the gas and then let off I lose almost all power and can barely maintain speed. The turbo doesnt spool up at all while this is happening this lasts for a couple seconds and then its back normal. I tried cleaning the EGR valve but that didn't help at all. Any suggestions would be great, thanks guys.

weld the egr valve closed and block your up pipe with a freeze plug also if it is 05-07 there is a scoop in the up pipe that needs to be removed this would help you

On the 04 its just a block off plate. Maybe someone on here can make you one if you ask nice, casue I paid like 35 for mine from elite and its just a pressed out plate. Complete rip off. I would look more into that problem. Does the engine have a flat drone like sound when this is happening?

mine does the same thing. It seems like it happens more getting on it coming out of a turn, but if I let off for a couple seconds and hit it again its okay.

Yeah you can, but most people or atleast I dont have access to a welder so its alot easier to spend the 35 on the plate and install from behind the passenger wheel.

Has anyone else on here experianced this problem? I have had allot of egr problems in the past and none of which had symptoms like this.

will the block off plate set a code?

my dad has a 04 that had the same problem and we took it into the dealer cuz of the waranty 100k or 5 years on the motor. are you under a 100k? if so even if you didnt buy the truck new they will work on it and replace all of the parts for a $100 fee wich is way cheaper then an egr.

Nah I past that 15k milles ago. Do you remember what the problem was?

they replace the egr and it worked good for a wile. but now it will ideal up and down and every onec in a wile you will have no thotle respons. dont know it the problem is from the egr or not. but i have a friend that works a ford as a diesel tech. if you know anyone like this in your town most of the time they will say that the miles are under. good luck

Kinda of looking for an answer on this myself. I noticed this the most when i am towing and have sustained EGT's of over 1200

It would make sense I guess the things been going out about every 30k miles so Its about due Bump Bump

Is your truck throwing codes? Mine is PO 299 which I cant find any solid info on and also PO 282 which is Cylinder 8 injector Curcit Low. I googled the crap out of the 299 and im not comming up with much at all. Any Ideas

ok im a gm master tech and i just looked it up and found that that is a slow leak in the boost side of your intake. it should be the same for ford most of the time they are. but i could be rong.

So basicaly look for a leak in one of the silicon boots? Turbo Charge Air Cooler Hose Oil Seepage? Thats the small metal tube running into the turbo right?

no boost no power

Iam havin same problem. my 6.0 ran fine and i was out of town for 4 days..came back and few miles later it would dog down.. At first, it dogs down at 1100 1400 rpm. and ran fine after that (on the way home when i got back in town). now it bogs down from 1100 and up and Zero boost (got worse) like it was starving for fuel, so i changed filters. same results. idles normal but thats it. any suggestions...?:dunno:

I had the same problem today. I had just got back from a 300 mile round trip pulling my 5th wheel (truck ran great). Dropped my 5th wheel off at my storage, and when I got on the road I noticed my speedometer was not working. I just blew it off but when I started up a descent grade I had no boost and very little acceleration so I started to pull over and then I heard a loud click and all of a sudden I had full power and my speedometer was working again. I drove another 30 miles after that with out any problems. It makes me think it is an electrical problem. My whole EGR system is gone so that is out the window for me.
