You have the big start solenoid that mounts on the passenger fender?

Not in the 2002
So then you have a late '02 model, that is why I asked
your start relay is in the fuse box

so now, we have to devine if it is an auto or a stick

Do you have 12 volts on terminal 30 of the start relay?

Yes and it does gets power when ignition turned to start
On terminal 86?
term 85 is the ground supplied from the pcm

term 30 (B+) to term 87(starter) should make the starter run

May be clicking but the internals are burned --swap it out for one of the other relays
if it clicks, then the safety circuits are fine

Can you confirm that jumping from term 30 to term 87 will crank the engine?
or that the relay is indeed clicking when the key is in the start position?

the wire from term 87 goes to the starter
hmm, there is the big connector on the rear of the engine, maybe check there
stick a jumper wire into the relay socket -- do you know which terminal is 30 and 87?
if not there are plenty of diagrams on google - Bosch mini relay
lets get past this will it crank or not question

I pulled the wire and it does crank. ive wired a relay and push button starter button to it and I am using the truck that way currently. I'll down load a diagram and start checking wire continuity from there .

Just trying to determine if you have a power side problem or a signal side problem
jumping the terminals at the relay will eliminate the question of the power side

I would have started with the jump wire under the hood to prove the starter, then moved to the start relay using a meter or test light to figure if the relay was getting proper signals and power
cheap and quick tests
