Hi to all
I just purchased my first powerstroke, its an early 99, born 3/98. It is bone stock. I'm looking upgrade the exhaust. I'm thinking that 4" turbo back will to the job. Next, I would like to know the opinions on the high flow turbine outlet, worth the trouble or not? Also gutting pedistal yes or no? Would I notice a difference if I did all at once? Thanks for looking and any advise.

If it were me, depending on how extreme I planned to mod it in the future. I would spend about $50 to have a muffler shop cut out the cat and muffler and weld in straight pipes and save my money for gauges and a chip, I’d also spend $40 on the DIY intake as quickly as possible.

If after future mods I started having egt problems then I might do the 4” Down pipe and 4” or 5” exhaust.

6637. ordered mine from fleet filter and arrived very quickly. i went with a budget kit 5" exhaust from farmboysdiesel as well. great kit. and even better price. the install was the easiest part ive ever installed on any car. i barely even had to move the spare tire to get it to fit.

Just bought my first diesel as well. It is a 2003 F250 and also on a budget. I purchased a diablo tuner and changed out the factory filter. What I did for now on the exhaust was to cut out the muffler. My truck is still under factory warranty, so I just chose to make one change. I hope that it doesn't mess up the truck. The tuner recommends a 4"turbo back exhaust when on performance, but I am going to try to get a EGT gauge set up so I won't mess nothing up while towing a travel trailer.
