Hello everyone. I recently picked up an '03 7.3l ecsb with 137,XXX on the clock. Truck came with what looks like a 5" MBRP exhaust and superchips programmer already installed. I had some preventive work (all fluids/filters changed out) done on it prior to picking it up and also had some new bushings and transmission range sensor put on to help the hard linkage issue. It is not my daily driver, but I will be putting some initial miles on it to monitor the truck and see how it acts before I start to mod it. My plans don't include any crazy horsepower drag truck...just lift it and use it as a hunting/playing around toy. So my question to you guys...is there anything that I should specifically look/watch for as I put some miles on it? Also...here are a few pics.

Thanks,
Mike

Congrats on the new ride... nice truck!

Gauges!!! Not many here are fond of the Superchips, but as with any tunes, you need gauges ASAP, or pull the Superchips out untill you do. Any intake? I like the DIY intake/6637 filter, and you got the exhaust covered it seems... unless it's just a tip on the stock exhaust? If it's stock, straight pipe it... air flow in, air flow out, gauges to know what's going on, then a good tuner, I like DP Tuner, others like TS chips with tunes from Wildman, PHP, Beans, etc.

With little more than a leveling kit you can run 305's or 315's, I have 35's on my red truck at the moment, (had 285's in the sig pic) and have minor rubbing on the inner fender liner at the back of the opening, and had to trim the back edge of the front bumper... but my bumper is junk, so it took me longer to get the sawzall than it did to think about if I wanted to cut it up!

Again, nice truck, enjoy it!

Appreciate the feedback. The truck still has the OEM intake on it, so I will probably change that out. As far as guages, I am definitely planning on snagging a display, I just have to figure out which one. I want to keep the grab handle so the pillar pod is out. Innovative diesel is fairly local for me, so I am planning a trip to their shop to talk about tuning and other mods that will help with performance and reliablility.

BTW...the truck passed inpsection yesterday with just a simple sway bar replacement.
