Hey guys im new to the whole diesel scene, im looking at buying a 4 door 2001 F350 super duty with the 7.3L. what should i check for before buying it. any common issues? any certain things i should look for in a diesel with 200k miles on it? thanks guys

Leaks, drips. IF at a dealer, ask for any maintenance records or an OASIS report. That will give you some background on it.
Next, you might want to check out the ORG's chapter for Indiana / Illinois members:

Some of the locals might be able give you some pointers as well.
