I have a '96 Powerstroke that burned one of the electrical connections for the injector harness at the valve cover gasket. To make sure I don't have any more problems, I purchased two valve cover gaskets and four injector harnesses to replace both sides.
My problem is the connection at the injector on the new harness is different than the original. The original has a rubber seal on the connector at the injector and the new does not. If I try to install the old seal on the new harness connector, I do not see how it will work, they are that different.
Has anyone run into this before? Should there be a seal on the connectors? Is there a different seal for the new harness?
I'm afraid oil will get into the connection without a seal causing another short and I don't want to make this repair again, way too expensive!
