New to the forum. Bought a 2008 F250 King Ranch with the 6.4L. Truck has 233k on the odometer but at 228k a new/used engine that had 125k on it was installed (I bought it after the new engine was installed). Truck is insanely clean on the inside. Everything on the truck works and no leaks.
For those of you asking why I bought it, knowing the 6.4 has issues - we had a family friend who was in a bad financial spot and instead of loaning him money that we might never get back, we paid off some of his debts and then bought the truck as part of the deal. Paid $14,500 total for it.
Since we bought it: new KR floors mats for the front, new weathertech for the rear, new driver's seat plastic molding, rear view camera, new headlights, fog lights and all new silverstar bulbs, new windshield, new tires, alignment, new rancho shocks front and read and new cab mounts (went with OEM). Truck came with an S&B cold air kit and we put a new S&B filter on it.
Plan buy a tuner, hoping this site will help. This will be used as a weekend driver and will occasionally pull my 21' boat.
I'm open to any suggestions and thoughts on what I need to do in order to keep this truck running smooth. I've heard all the horror stories, hoping my good deed goes unpunished.
