hey everyone im matt new to the forum and just picked up a 99 250 and lookin into exhausts now and just wondering your opinions on the mbrp either 4" or 5" and what i would be better off goin with right now the truck has k&n intake and i think a hypertech chip i plan on upgrading the turbo at some point just with a rebuilt one with different impeller and that so i have lil quicker spool and lil more boost and depending on how i like this chip t came with possibly switching out for a change on the fly set up from some where so basicly my question is what diameter would i be better off going for with what it has now and what i will be doing to it in the not to distant future thanks in advance

Welcome to the ORG Matt and congratulations on the truck.

First thing id first get rid of the K&N filter/intake. I would go with the DIY intake, its cheap, easy, and effective. There is a thread on how to do it in the 7.3 Tech Files.

ALSO!!! Considering you do have the K&N, inspect your turbine wheel and rule out any damage that may have resulted from dirt and debris. It is probably a good idea to replace it anyway.

As for the exhaust its all about preference. The MBRP set-up with great if you want to spend the money. It sounds great and looks even better. However the alternative is always just straight-piping the stock pipe.

Good Luck with the truck!

there isnt a whole lot you can do to your turbo to help.. you already have the WW in your turbo... anything you throw at it would be wasted money...

as for the other mods... get yourself a set of gauges.. and for the exhaust i just recommend a 4" TB straight piped exhaust... MBRP has a budget minded Aluminum exhaust thats under 300 bucks...

let me know if i can help you out in any way

MXracer511, The Hypertech programmer will work great with either intake combo and exhaust you use. You will be amazed at the difference in power over stock with the addition of our Programmer

i would save the money and go with a 4". mbrp is a good brand but there are others that are good. it's really about about the money. i personally would go with stainless but it's all personal preference. and barter with the dealer you are buyin from to get the lowest price. and get rid of that hypertech for somethin better
