Hi power stroke org, I’m John, I have a ‘00 7.3 with 154k that I’ve had for about a year now. I’ve read countless posts here and i finally decided to make my own account. I do most of all my own work on my truck and as such I need all the help I can get lol

so far I’ve done s&b cold air intake, 4” diamond eye straight pipe, International ss bellowed up pipes, Warn Locking Hubs, Riff Raff FRx, coolant filter, all new turbo boots from Riff Raff, auto meter gauges boost, pyro trans, and I just bought a Hydra. I also am in the process of putting wheels and tires on her. I went with Trail Ready 17”x8.5” simulated bead lock wheels in polished aluminum and Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT.

Here she is as she sits before my gauge install:

Previous owner babied it, and I love this thing she’s absolutely cherry
I’ll post more pics once I get the wheels and tires and leveling kit on there, and maybe post my thoughts on the copper tires. Also I got a Hydra coming to me and I’m gonna try out Jelibuilt tuning, nothing crazy just a little more pep. I hope I can learn more here!! I’ve also had to repair a few things but nothing major. Water pump, vaccume pump, replaced pedestal seals, its Been a very reliable truck this far, knock on wood .. anyway that’s me and nice to be here

Welcome to the org!

Personally im not a fan of the cooper at3s. But tires are like beer one man swears by it and the others would rather drink warm water hahaha. If you see snow/ice I would lean towards BFGs AT ko2s. I run them year around and they make a big difference even with the empty weight of the rear end floating around. If you don't see snow/ice and live in a sunny snowless climate just avoid firestone. they get ruined by hard sun damage way to easily...

if you want to save some money the php hydra softare comes loaded with tons of FREE TUNES that work for 99% of users. The custom tuning really only comes into play with larger injectors, turbos, huge lifts and specialized towing/performance needs etc.

Lol yea for sure, tires definitely subjective for sure, I’ve seen some that praise them to the sky, and others Not so much. Good info about the bfg. Tires.

and ok yea maybe I’ll just try out the php tunes before spending the extra coin... I’m literally stock Besides the basic performance mods, thanks for that input

Cooper tire in general is good but the AT3s in particular just don't have the same weight as their brand in general. My Dad runs the cooper st maxxs and loves them and I considered getting them but my 2nd set of BFGs still have another 20-30k on them so I have time lol.

Yes try out the free tunes first as 99% of custom tunes from the Facebook clubs are slightly different than the base power files Bill from PHP created... Custom tunes are way more oriented towards specialist applications for larger injectors and that type.

Also, I just remembered this, according to several tire shops I’ve called around to, the AT3 is on national backorder for months, I guess it’s a popular tire haha!

Glad to have you and your truck John!! It's a good looking one! And you're right, "A clean truck is a Happy truck!" - Been doing stuff for my daughter's wedding this last weekend - Now that she's married and we're done, I need to get my truck happy again. HAHAHAHA
