Ok so i know what most will say.... but hear me out.

So I'm getting that high hiss sound from the degaus bottle letting off pressure but not spewing any coolant.... I have also lost a very small portion of coolant but refilled it and just drove 7 hours and the level was holding when i arrived. And i'm not overheating at all, held 180 ect the whole way up. And no white smoke at all.

Talked the diesel tech at my local dealership before i left and he was 99.0% sure that it is indeed the head gaskets.... Another opinion from another Ford diesel tech said the "head gasket" problem was a misdiagnoises that it is actually a problem with either just the intercooler or the egr cooler, a much cheaper and easier fix.

I know the head gaskets are a very common problem but what do ya'll think??

My local shop also quoted me $3950 to replace the gaskets with ford parts with a 12 month, 12,000 mile warranty, think its worth it or should I buy Black Onyx Gaskets and ARP studs if indeed it is the head gaskets???

I have OEM gaskets, and ARP Studs. I would advise never return to the OEM TTY headbolts, they stretch and the gaskets let go. There is no misdiagnoises when it comes to head gaskets, and I'm willing to wager yours are blown. (When mine went it was with the same hiss, sometimes it would hold coolant, but when I went to WOT it wouldn't and I could smell it in the cab)

The inter cooler is never related the the degass bottle hissing, that's just absurd. I would tell them to put the studs in the truck and maintain that warrenty for you for $3950, or I'd find another shop.

I was just in your shoes last month. Do this once and never worry about it again. While your in there, solve your EGR cooler (delete, or upgrade) replace the oil cooler, and flush the Ford Gold Coolant out of your truck.

Let us know how everything progresses.

Go to BulletProof Diesels website and look at their video to test head gaskets and EGR cooler leak.

Ok so i did the test and i think i got a little change not really sure... I'm going to post a video of what i did and if anyone wouldn't take a look at it and tell me what you think. Thanks

so did you get bubbles with that test?
if i'm right and you did get the bubbles doesn't it mean that egr-cooler or head gasget
or bought is your problem.

i try to link my video clip what mine does. ( it is in my phone so it take a little time to get i to laptop)

and now im waiting parts and my heads are in checking for cracks.

Not necessarily from what i understand. bubbles are normal, its the change in bubbles when you unplug the turbo thats the sign of an issue

well how i see it,change in bubbles mean that you got head gasget and egr-cooler problem.

i dont think that in idle engine allready at warm cap open and no pressure of cooling system
and you connect the "test device" there should not come bubbles. maby little like now and then...

but not continuously like litle exhaust pipe was under water.

someone correct if im wrong.
