Hello all, Just when I thought I was finished with this truck another issue has shown up. Brand new engine/accesories etc. New fan clutch was installed when I installed my new engine (new front cover/pumps, etc). Now from when I start the truck 100% of the time cold engine or hot its on. Sounds like a garbage truck. Any Ideas? The fan clutch is brand new.

I haven't checked my temps yet but would it matter? Sits overnight and starts cold in the morning and still comes on and stays on?

I tried to search but there are alot of things pertaining to a old fan clutch replacement. Wanted to see if anyone had anything to try/add.

Thanks! :thumb:

Are you sure it is a viscous clutch and that it is rated for the temperatures it needs to kick on?

Yes, it is. its a OEM Ford clutch. It comes on and stays on no matter what temp the truck is at

Call them and ask if it has a break in period, if not, get it replaced. Could just be bad out of the box.

I hope not, everything is brand new lol. Only thing used from the previous motor was the turbo and exhaust pipes... Has new everything, sensors, hoses, pumps, etc.

Ill check it out tomorrow morning and if not ill take it back and get another one from the dealer.

bad oil temp sensor/connection will cause this to happen. or you got the clutch for the snow plow prep package trucks, it is a bit louder than the normal one.

Check the wiring from the clutch. If the blue wire (if I'm recalling correctly) is grounded out it will make the fan go to 100%. Keep in mine it takes a couple minutes for the clutch viscus fluid to cool off and disengage the fan.
