Just picked up this beautiful green machine. New to powerstroke and fairly new to diesel all together. Wondering if someone would help me identify some things? Engine runs smoothly with decent power. Trying to find out if I have egr or not. Not sure how to tell from looking in the bay.

Also, it has an older tuner with the small display gone dark like the contrast is bad. Unable to adjust to fix but just enough where I can see the menu. Would these have a screen diy screen fix?

Take a picture of your EGR down in the valley of the engine slightly to the passenger side, and post it up, EGR deletes are usually obvious. I believe some deletes were disguised to look real though!

Welcome to the Madness. First is to get a way to monitor what is going on with your truck. I use a Bluetooth dongle and a Torque Pro on my phone for EOT/ECT. Grab a fuel pressure gauge and EGT gauge. This will give you an idea if thier is trouble coming.

Looks like it still has the EGR valve and hooked up. I am open to any suggestions as to simplest way to take this dependency out of the mix. Also, have not looked yet but does anyone have a written list of all the filters and locations along with socket size needed tools?

FD4616 for the fuel filter set (the set comes with a qty of 2 filters - one for the primary fuel filter and one for the secondary fuel filter) & new orings

FL2016 for the oil filter & new oring

36mm socket for the oil filter cap and primary fuel filter cap on the driver side frame rail.

24mm socket for the secondary fuel filter next to the oil filter housing.

Go to 6.0L Power Stroke Maintenance Schedule & Service Information for some good maintenance write ups and quite a few part numbers.
