We just took delivery of our new 2015 Oshkosh Striker 4500 at our department (Suncor Fort Hills Project). 1000hp, 8x8, 2000 gpm pump. Holds 4500 gallons of water and 600 gallons of foam.

If this poor girl only knew the life it was in for.... When she was born she probably thought she was destined for some posh airport gig, then she arrived here... At an Oilsands strip mine as a mine response unit, spending her life in sticky tar sand putting out heavy equipment fires. I feel sorry for her already....

No Class D Dry powder, but it has a dry Chem system with purple K and propelled by nitrogen. It is plumbed into the hose reel line. This allows you to select water, foam or dry Chem on your hose reel.

1000 hp sounds like a lot, but with a weight like that it probably isn't very quick. (Not that it should be)

You'd be surprised, I bet that crash truck is pretty quick for its size.

My FD took delivery of a new aerial 10 months ago, it came with a 600hp cummins and it weighs in near 60k pounds, and it's pretty quick.
