the only thing is, i just cant justify spending 200 bucks on bulbs. HID's would be awesome, but im also trying to get a lift + tires.

thanks tho. It always comes down to it, so little cash and so much to do! hahaha

i bought sylvania ultra bright for my truck and barely noticed a change if anything. i noticed a bigger difference when i had them on my gmc. i'm considering buing HID's now, but the thing that concerns me is getting pulled over. i already get people *****in for my lights being in their mirrors

i have the silverstars in my rig... the only difference was it's not as yellowy. Still no comparison to HID and it was a cheap fix when I did my harley lights. But these H13s (atleast in the 05+ trucks) are already really bright, so you have to go HID before you see a big difference.

Brite lites

Alright so i wanna get some wicked bright bulbs. These are what im lookin at, for fog and headlights.

What do you guys think? Im up for suggestions.
Dog Lewis from Frod Preformance Specalists (tech support 770-949-7191) has a mod called Brite Box. It operates both high/low head lamps at the same time. Its a box that plugs into the head lite harness. ($$ not sure ) He has a web site Ford Specialists.com - Ford Performance Specialists Seen before and after pictures and a noticable difference between the two. That's one of the mods I would like to do to my truck. (cheaper than HID'S considering if one goes bad in time) Hope info helps? Good luck

I have been researching the same, and just so you know, an HID conversion is more than just bulbs. There is wiring and ballasts that also need installed.

See this for that.....

IMO those bulbs would be a poor investment. The Silverstars are going to be about the best bang for your halogen buck, plus you can pick them up locally. :thumb:

HID's will go out eventually, but the life expectancy on the gas tubes are about 3100-3400 hours, a halogen bulb simply is not going to last that long.

300 for the HID's? Last I looked, raul had the 5k's for less. Might want to look again.

Yeah, They are less than $300. I don't want to quote his prices for him, just in case they change or something, but here is the link if you want to check it out yourself, I am about 99% sure that when I get mine, I will get them from him.....

The Hellas would be brighter by virtue of being an 80/100w vs. a 55/65w with the Silverstars, and you get about 1500 +/- lumens of output from the Hella vs. 1150 +/- from the SS. The other thing that is a bigger concern with Hellas or any higher wattage bulb is heat, that much wattage is going to produce a lot of it, and longevity with any high wattage tungsten filament bulb is going to be deminished.

An uupgraded harness is not really need, a 100 watt bulb would draw about 9-10 amps of current, well within what the stock wires can handle :thumb:

...and if you think about the Brite Box mod, you actually would be doing both 55 watt low beam and 65 watt high beam at the same time on your stock wires, that a 120 watt output, no harness there either:)

Wrong you run 80/100 on a stock harness and you will have problems! I and many others have had this happen. So far the Hella 80/100w have lasted 3 years.

Light from a diode mod will not increase the high beam output so it won't help reach out, but it will allow the use of the low beams which fills in that area. Better mod is to use a 9011-HIR1 Bulb in your fogs and mod your switch to run them with or without your high beams.

not sure what you did to have problems, but ohm's law is absolute, math doesn't lie....amps = watts divided by volts. 80 watt bulb at 13.5 volts = 5.9 amps, if your stock harness goes to crap pulling 5.9 amps, you have bigger problems to worry about than headlights.

Im not sure what you were talking about with a diode mod, if it was the budget brite box, it doesn't use a diode for anything, just a couple of relays.

It's pretty easy really. May take you 30 mins or so.

Your low beams will function as they always have. When you hit the high beams, the low beams stay on as well.

If you run into problems, PM me. It really is stright forward. :thumb:
