So I bought a 2010 F350 6.4 a few months ago from the dealer, approx. 75k miles. Truck already had exhaust, S&B Intake, Sinister Intake Elbow, EGR/DPF Delete on it. Very nice truck, loaded up with all options. What did it not have... the programmer.

I was fortunate enough to find the previous owner's info and was able to give him a call shortly after the purchase. He had traded the truck in on a new cummins. He said the only issues he had been having was transmission sensors as a result of running a really aggressive tune. He also stated that he had loaded the tow tune onto the truck and removed the programmer prior to trade in.

So the truck has ran clean for about 4k miles. Last week the CEL started coming in and out and a scan at auto zone showed the P2263 Code. After a lot of reading I went and got a new EBP Sensor. The Sensor had been placed in the EGR Plate behind the turbo (replacement was fun). My problem is that the Sensor did not fix the code. CEL light is still on.

Really looking for some guidance/advice form the more experienced folks. I can't figure out how this truck is running and not going into regen without the programmer. Guess it can store the programming? I don't mind getting a new programmer for it, but am on the fence with dumping it now and not wasting the money. 75k miles, have to lift the cab to work on it etc coupled with a truck payment have me scared. Cant afford a 10k engine swap while paying for this thing. Bought a diesel to have a reliable truck. Not sure I am gonna have that here.

Yeah it will store the programming. But I thought the tuner ends up being locked if you don't set the truck back to stock when removing it. So not sure why the guy would wouldn't have left it in the truck. Definitely get another tuner delete capable and get it reprogrammed.
