My H&S 6.7 vs H&S 6.4 experience

So I have seen this 6.4 running around town here and there. Looks like maybe a 6-8" lift, dual stacks, 22" wheels and maybe 37's, ect.. Today I finally was able to get next to him.

At a light he asked which programmer so I told him H&S, and then he said he was also on an H&S. I asked what tune he was on and he said 300. He also had dpf delete/stacks, intake, intercooler, head studs, but no egr block off.

We both did a 4WD launch and I was fully expecting to get my *** handed to me.. Something happened on the first run and I got the hit and pulled away big time so we let off. We stopped again, and did another 4WD launch. We got an even start but again something happened and I pulled away and we let off. After that, we did a couple rolling starts. Each time I pulled about 1 truck length, and he started to slowly catch up, but had to shut down around 80. (we went on three honks each time) So basically on the initial hit, I pulled, and after getting up to speed, he'd slowly catch up but never passed me.

Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. I thought he was going to pull on me like crazy. Seems like the 6.7 has a lot of low end to it compared to the 6.4 (at least that one). If we kept going, he would have passed me eventually.

I don't do a lot of racing in this truck, but I had been waiting to get a piece of a 6.4 lol.

Just excited, so I figured I'd share :)

My truck is H&S minimax, intake, dpf delete, egr block off. 3" lift and 35's. The truck has been solid. Perfect shifts from the transmission, no weird hiccups and other issues. Thanks H&S!

What gear ratio do you have?
What gear ratio do you have?
3.55 gear ratio
Nice! I love my 6.7 3.55 too, can't wait to get deletes and tuned.

Just a heads up though, the 6.4 guys will turn this thread into a pissing match for sure.
He let you win...jk jk!!
big tires hurt performace really bad i used to have a 6.4 with 35s it felt like i lost 50hp with the bigger tires. got a 6.7 dually now with the same h&s love it so far. 6.7 does have alot more low end torque. 6.4 is a faster engine tho
Yea big tires hurt performance and mpgs..iam running 33" on my truck and i really like them!!
lol.. this makes me want a 6.7 more and more.. i have the itch for a new truck for some reason.. but i cant justify getting rid of mine.. its running perfect right now... (knock on wood)
main reason i got rid of my 6.4 was i wanted a 1 ton and for a low mile 6.4 ur lookin at 38k with really low miles and i got a brand new 6.7 for 45k and its a lariet as well just seems dumb to buy used.
I hear ya, but I can't justify to the old lady starting my payments again when I'm over half way getting this one paid off, even if its a newer truck with similar payments
I really like 6.7s but i cant afford one!!

ive come to the conclusion that im always going to have a truck payment its like the electric bill you wish you could just pay it off but its never going to happen by the time the trucks paid off its wore out and repairs and down time will be just like a payment so might as well have the truck you want cause ur going to pay anyway. try explaining that to her lol

I find it flat out amazing how many people think this way. I understand your logic, but I just dont agree. I could spend over $7000 per year on maintenace and still come out ahead.
copy that... I financed $10k of my '08 just to help my credit score out some more. My payment is only like $250/mo

I've never had a vehicle payment prior to owning this truck. Can't imagine just accepting a $500-1000k truck note for life! LOL
Its just to much 500-1000 every month + start all over with the mods!!!i bougth my 09 cash and iam pretty happy with it!!

Being broke sucks, but it's also a time when you can either sink or swim. When I was in my 20' and 30s, I personally drove a lot of junk in order to pay the bills. I couldn't afford a new truck. It was never an option, so I never looked at them. It would have been too painful and too luring.
To burying yourself in debt, and then to think that it's the American way is a bad way to go. Buy what you can afford, get your debt down and do what others who find themselves in this situations refuse to do.. Sacrifice until you see black ink.
My truck its a 2wd with a 6" lift on 33" and its pretty fast idk if i can beat a 6.7 tho!

I was short about $12k on buying my 12' F-350. The dealer even asked me to make at least 4 payments before paying this truck off so they dont lose the Finance Rebate. So I ended up putting a little down and financing it for 60 months. The payments are $1050. THough it does not matter as the truck will be paid off in 6 months.

But if I had to actually pay that amount for 60 months there would be absolutely no way. My last truck was paid off for over 3 years and that was nice.

The only thing that stopped me from buying used is I did not want a out dated engine or pickup for that matter. And the price difference from a used 2011 to a new one was not worth buying used.
I did the same as others and financed just 7.5k to help my credit. Made payments for a year just to keep it going and it's all paid off now.

I know I'll want a new model one day when it's significantly updated, but It will be hard after putting so much money in mods into it.. Perhaps if some of the aftermarket stuff is transferable.

In the mean time, I love the thing. Its quick enough for what it is, looks good, and does it's job very well. Turns a lot of heads too. Going to paint the front/rear/grille body color and get T-Rex grille next and mount some Rigid flush mount lights in the rear bumper next.

One key to being able to sell and get a new vehicle is keeping it super clean and in good condition. I usually sell my vehicles for well over high KBB value. I do my best to buy super low also. Right now my truck is still valued just 7K before taxes/licence below what I purchased it for without any mods. Not bad for an american truck after almost two years. I keep my vehicles in excellent shape they usually sell in less then a week on the private market.

cant afford down time i need my truck to work everyday not be in the shop for a week. if it was a toy truck it wouldnt matter but somebody that actually needs there truck needs a fairly new realiable one imo
