Been reading and getting info from here for some time. Got to say thanks. I have a 2006 F250 with 150k. Been running ULSD in it with additives like Diesel Kleen. Couple of weeks ago found a station with B5 diesel. I knew the Bio had outstanding lubrication properties so I started to run the B5. Drive on average a 1000 miles a week, so fill up often. I noticed a fuel gain on the second tank. Started to pay attention to it and best I can tell getting 1.5 to 2 miles per gallon more then ULSD. Nothing changed on the truck, same tires for the last 40k, fuel filters and oil this week. So not running new filters or oil Been through a few tanks of the B5 and the fuel gain has stayed.

I get monthly fuel reports from work, also have the lie o meter. But more so I know how far a tank gets me on my drive. Noticed the gain before I even looked at any numbers. Seeing what yalls opinion are as to why the B5 made such a difference. Think my fuel system need the lube that bad? or was it a case of the Bio cleaning my system and this making the difference?

I would run it if they had it in my area. Stuff is hard to find.

I would chalk it up to cleaning up the fuel system and injectors especially, atomizing the fuel better and getting a better burn. Bio diesel actually has less energy per volume than D2 diesel so it isn't uncommon to see a slight drop in fuel mileage.

Having said that, the best mileage I have ever had in my truck came while running a blend of about B40.

I run b20 almost always and think i had a slight drop in mpg, but i like the lube and the fuel is %100 american made...id rather give my money to an american company. As for your increase id guess it cleaned it up or the base fuel they start with is better
