Howdy!

I'm moving to the Denver area in a month for my new job. I'm coming from Texas where diesel emissions are merely an afterthought. I have an Spartan tuned 6.4 with DPF and cat removed. EGR is still on it.

How do I go about getting an inspection/registration in CO with the straight pipe on it? Is it possible? Do I need to put all the stock junk on for all the paperwork, then remove it all again? It's possible but a PITA (to me at least!).

Don't mean to beat a dead horse around here, but I don't want to be driving around with Texas tags for a year!

Thanks in advance for any advice!
CM

EDIT: Looks like just an opacity test with the exhaust? Luckily the twin turbos on my 6.4 don't let much smoke out unless I really romp on it, and even then it's nothing too crazy.

You will need to have a cat on to even think about passing. Do you still have the stock one?

Weld the EGR cooler up and leave the EGR valve in.

Just curious, does CO. charge a "usage Tax" like KY??? You basically pay what your current value is on your Truck every year when registration is due. Curious if CO. is the same?
