Here is my little toy.
That's a great looking bike JD. Might be a stupid question but I have always been curious. With apes that high is it uncomfortable to ride long distance? I would think your arms would get tired. Being a sport bike guy for the last 12 years I have never experienced riding anything with apes.

i'm getting out of the fast cars arena and working on getting my cycle license.
going this week for my training course. bought a really cheap learner bike,
a 2007 buell blast for $1k. plan on beating on that for as long as it takes for
me to get comfy, then plan on getting a sv650 for a step up.

the grom and z125 really look fun, may pick one of those up, too.

some nice bikes on this thread !!

There is no effort to holding your arms there. They just hang. Set the cruise and move your arms around if you want to. I have rode with these bars on long rides with no problems. 2,000 miles in 3 days and a couple of 650 mile days.

Grom's are awesome! I love mine (I'm on the far right) These are some of the guys I race with. I think at least 15 of us have bought one as a pit bike and tool around bike. They are a blast to ride.

That's awesome. If I ever buy a cruiser I will have to try out apes. 650 miles in a day is impressive. I wouldn't want to do that on a sportbike.

That has the potential to be quite entertaining

So. I sold the Ninja 650R back in April and replaced it with this...
'14 Yamaha Super Tenere
Still have the Super Tenere and KLR. I recently rebuilt the top end on the KLR (10 days ago) and it's now a 685. Took it out for a night of camping last night.

I have had several small street bikes back in my youth, but as was said before, there are MANY more distracted drivers out there now compared to the mid 80s. I have had several dirtbikes including an older Honda XR 200, and now my 2003 Kawasaki KLR 250 that I ride 95% off road around my farm. My son still has an XR200, and rides with me.
