Just finished replacing the EGR cooler, oil cooler, dummy plugs, stand pipe and STC fitting.

Truck started and idled very ruffly then died after about a 90 seconds. Truck would not start again and had a p2285 code.

Pulled out the IPR and the screen and plastic part was gone. Any idea what to do? Tried to get a o-ring pick to fish it out but couldn't find it.

Unless the screen was left off in the first place, it would almost have to be in the hole... somewhere. Keep picking around.

Aren't those screens magnetic? Can you get an inspection camera or your cell phone in there and get a look for it?

Follow up. Thanks for your replies. The cell camera was a great idea because the screen was at an angle. Turned the o-ring pick another direction and had it out in about 3 min.

Just thinking out loud.
As careful as I was to keep dirt out of the oil system, I apparently got some dirt in the system.
Could I just leave the IPR sensor out and crank the motor to clean out the oil system?

I've never tried that, but I suspect it could get rather messy in a hurry.
