I just wanted to find out if I did something wrong, or if the tail lights I got are just defective.
I had been having a problem with my tail lights blowing and wasn't sure how moisture was getting in the housing, I've used an epoxy to seal around the edges, but it still kept getting in. The last time I had to replace a bulb, my mechanic was looking at the housings and said they looked melted, I felt one from the other and they were both deformed but the driver side was more deformed than the other. He was thinking it was my strobes (90watt, 2 in each tail light), but I usually don't run them for more than 2mins at a time. The driver side one even had the backup light part separating from the light exposing the inside of the lamp to the outside. I've ordered 2 new lamps from the Dealer (only $55 per (seem really cheap)).
Any thoughts are appreciated.
On a side note, I once ran my strobes (same setup) on my 06 F250 for 45mins while blocking the road for an accident. Never had any issue.
