I think my truck may be making oil. 1500 miles. When it was new oil was at max overfill mark. During my monthly separator drain/oil check I found this today.
Sent email to dealer, wondering what you guys thought.

Either fuel in oil or it may have been enough warmer that it was expanded some or on an incline

I always check oil cold. otherwise it's hard to make it consistent.

Well I turned it around in the driveway, let it cool to 90 degrees. It was right on full mark so I guess I'm good to go. :)

When in doubt about your engine oil.... spend the $10.00 and pull a sample and have it analyzed.... no guessing required....
The lab results cut out service advisor b.s. if there is an issue... most of them wont dare argue with a copy of the lab results...

I sent my oil to Blackstone Labs. Really convenient. Reasonably priced. Nice personalized results and feedback. You can find them on the web. Blackstone Labs

There may be others, but I read about these guys on this forum and tried them.....will continue to use them in the future.

Any local medium/heavy duty truck shop has access to this service. Most are either Cat, Cummins, or Detroit OEMs and can sell you an SOS bottle... Simply collect the sample, fill out the enclosed label, and drop it in the mail or return it to the store....
Every Caterpillar dealership has an oil lab.... I would assume Cummins, John Deere, Detroit, Waukesha, Komatzu dealerships do as well....
