I'm new to diesel trucks, having just purchased an early 99 F350 XLT CC LB DRW. It has 83K miles on it and runs good. I know diesels are louder than gassers, but I hear what I believe to be a rattle coming from the area of the torque converter. I hear this rattle continuously regardless if the truck is in P/R/N/D. The only time the rattle goes away is when it shifts into O/D. Then it's as quiet as can be. Could this be a flexplate going bad, or the torque converter, or something else all together ?

Thanks
