2006 f250 FX4, The right rear caliper froze up and started smoking. 10 minutes later I went to move the truck to work on it and the pedal went to the floor, no brakes what so ever. I replaced the caliper and both rear pads, bled the brakes. Now I have marginal brakes and very low pedal. I can't figure why I lost all braking. I replaced the master cylinder today and still have a low pedal. Any ideas?

lost all brakes

i wa hoping some one would have an answer to your problem.
it just happened to me on my 04 Excursion 6.0 4X4
the right rear caliper busted the seals.
i replaced it with a new caliper and bled the brakes but now while driving the pedal goes all the way down and i have to pump to get it to come to a stop but every time i pump and hold the brake just fades.
i bled all 4 wheels with the truck off and with the truck on and still the brake pedal wont hold.

any one has had this problem and found a fix or something we can try?

i found a post that talks about the caliper replacement
seems that i replaced my pasanger side rear caliper with one that is supposed to go on the driver's side.
are all your bleeder valves on the top of the calipers or do you have one on the bottom below the supply hose?
seems that if you have a bleeder valve on the bottom you will get fluid out but it will never empty the air in the caliper.
i'm going to take my caliper out and go back to the store to get the right one tomorrow.
i'll post back to let you know whether this fixed the problem.

That's what was wrong with mine. The box had the right part number but it was the wrong unit in the box.

in my case the guy at the store never bother to ask if it was the drivers side or the pasanger side and i figured they were the same.
oh well, Lesson learned!!!!
brakes are good now.
