Accele RVC1150 Flush-mount rear view camera at Crutchfield.com

this might work also since I have a 10inch lift and my hitch is 14" drop I can mount this flush under bumper to still see hitch and what is behind me.

Kenwood CMOS-310 Universal rear-view camera with multiple view modes at Crutchfield.com

and this one as i want regular back up camera and i want camera behind my toy trailer. I park in extreamly tight spot and backing in is new to me I have to have wife guid me in but If camera back there might be easyer to do by mysel untill I get better at it.

lots of different choices on that site but google for best price.

let me know what you go with if you do it first maybe help me decide

the tailgate handle is the way to go
the angle is perfect ,, if I didn't have an 06 I would be using the OEM
set up on mine ,, the conversion to use the 08 is easy as a rca splice
and running the wire out the tailgate ,,

I mounted my back up camera in the hole in the bumper, the access hole for lowering your spare tire, since my truck is lifted i don't have a spare under the truck anymore, so that hole was perfect size for the camera to fit in, i had to make a little bracket to hold the camera but it fits and works perfect in that location.

Are you looking for one that ties into your headunit or a stand alone one with its own screen?
If your looking for a stand alone look here, they are awesome and will hold up to anything. Not cheap though.... I like the idea of the wireless ones, then when I'd hook up that 38' cargo I could put the camera on that! Official Case IH Online Parts Store and Case IH Catalog for Parts Search and Parts Look Up. Case IH Parts for Case IH Tractors, Case IH Combines, Case IH Tractors, Case IH Manuals, Case IH Parts - Catalog :: Operator Comfort :: Cameras/Observation Sy

Personally I would love to wire the stock tailgate unit into my aftermarket headunit. If the truck didn't come with that setup from the factory, do you have to run the wire up to the headunit or did they all come pre-wired?

I had a guy on here, Steve, make me a custom plug that plugs into the harness of the tailgate camera that has a pigtail, I'll wire the ground, 12 volt, and the RCA up to my monitor and that's it. If youll be wiring to your aftermarket unit, does it have a video tx input on it? If so that's how you'll wire it.

So if I buy a factory tail gate camera all I have to do is plug it in and split some wires.
I was told you had to wire the intire thing from camera to head unit.

If I have 10" lift 40" tires will the camera be to high on my handle?

last question how much was factory camera?
thanks for your time

I bought an Audiovox from Bestbuy the model # is ACA200W

The last pics were taken with my truck 8 feet from my shop door, I took the last pic with my phone placed right against the camera to try and get the same angle as the Backup camera. The backup camera shows a wider angle than my phone camera, but I'm at work (always) and all I have is the phone. Hope that helps someone. Also the truck is lifted 8" so stock height may be different.

I have an '08 that came from the factory with a tailgate handle cam. Who told you it wouldn't work "unless you do all kinds of junk?"

My truck cam factory equipped. I have to imagine its only a little more difficult to wire the cam to the handle than to the license plate.
Ya that is what I thought, Maybe I need to do a lil more research before I belive the one thing I read, lol
Hinks set up looks like it might even work better as i am lifted 10" on 40s so the lower mounting might be best. I mostly wanna see my hitch ball. I hate getting out of the truck 3 times just to line it up to my trailer, lol
