Key fob programming

Hey there, just bought a 2002 xlt f250. It has power locks bit didn't come with fobs. I found some on Amazon and have followed the steps to program but I am not successful. I can get it to cycle the locks and enter program mode but when I hit the fobs nothing happens. They do have batteries in them... Any ideas?

A couple thoughts.

Are the batteries in correctly AND good? Plus and minus touch the right contacts?

Is there something on the batteries to keep them from connecting? A piece of insulating tape to protect the batteries during transit?
1) You need to find out if that option was even installed in your model.
2) Not all radio frequency match all models, contact the seller
3) If the fobs do match, I generally find it quicker to add the fobs with IDS

I misread ignore me lol.
Installed brand new batteries in the correct orientation, no change.

How do I find out if my truck had that option? What is IDS? The picture attached won't come into focus for me.
If the locks cycle then you have RKE
What do the Amazon remotes look like?

Exactly like that. I ordered these.
See if you can find a shop with a scan tool that will check RKE signal
The cheap remotes don't always put out a good signal

I'll stop by the parts store later and see what they have. Thanks for the help.

I've read some suggestions to unplug the battery for 10 minutes to clear the memory of the old remotes. Guess I'll give that a try too.
As soon as the locks cycled the truck should've gone into program reset and cleared any remote codes in memory

HERE IS AN EASIER WAY TO KNOW IF YOUR TRUCK CAME WITH KEYLESS ENTRY.....

GO TO ANY FORD DEALER.....GIVE THEM THE COMPLETE V.I.N. AND THEY CAN LOOK UP EXACTLY WHAT FEATURES YOUR TRUCK CAME WITH.....

I HAVE AFTER-MARKET KEY FOBS.....AND THEY PROGRAMED JUST FINE.....(I GOT MINE ON EBAY).....

ALSO.....YOU SAID THAT THE TRUCK WENT INTO PROGRAMING MODE.....WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?....

WHAT BUTTON DID YOU PUSH ON THE REMOTE?....

DID YOU TRY A SECOND TIME?....IF SO.....DID YOU DO ANYTHING DIFFERENTLY FROM THE FIRST TIME?....WHAT WAS THE RESULT?....

I have tried hitting every button on the fobs and nothing happens. Probably close to 10 attempts at this point.
I'm pretty positive I have rke, when I lock the doors and shut them the signals flash once. I can also get the locks to cycle indicating programming mode but NOTHING happens when I hit any button on the remotes.
Maybe it's just cheap china-junk and it's the keyfob not the truck? I got a set of 3 for like $10 so I'd get a set from a different seller or find someone with a working fob. The batteries in the china-junk I bought went out after a month and I had the problem you are having until I decided maybe the battery in all 3 went dead at the same time... Well, they did. New battery and it worked again.

Previous owner of my Excursion didn't have the fobs so I went to the Ford dealer to check it out. They gave me an estimate of $199 for labor and parts. What a rip-off (BTW, haven't been back to that dealer). Since my Ex is a "Limited" I was confident it had remote entry. So I bought these cheap fobs from Amazon for $12/pair and can confirm they work on my 2002 Ex so these should work on your F-250.

Since your locks cycle when programing the fobs I'm pretty sure that means you have remote entry. You probably checked the fob batteries but if you didn't take a look inside the fobs to see if there's a plastic sheet between the batteries and the terminals. The plastic is to keep batteries from draining during shipping/storing.

The fobs programmed on the first try. They work fine except the range is short maybe 15 feet max. Probably the Chinese batteries need replacing.
