After the fourth time, the dealership finally decides to do the head gaskets. I got the tech to install the ARP's for me and he also gets me new heads. So, three weeks later and I finally have it back. I'm driving down 95 S. this morning cruising at about 75 and suddenly I hear a loud pop.......I thought I blew a tire at first but I felt it in the floor boards. I looked in my mirrors right after it happened and did not see any debris bouncing down the highway. Something happened. So I pull off and check everything out, no dents, nothing obviouse under the truck or under the hood, all gauges are normal? Ok, she seems to be running fine. I get home to pick up my daughter for her Lacross practice and the truck won't start. I wait until we get back home from her practice, still won't start. I'm thinking I somehow blew something up like maybe the HPOP or an oil line or something. What do you guys think? If she starts in the morning I will drive it back to the dealership, otherwise they will have to tow it back. Damn the luck! :dunno:

If that is the tube that connects to the turbo, than yes that is exactly what it sounded like. I've blown that thing off once before. That was my second thought after it happened but I did not lose any boost so I knew right away that it was something else.

Right there at the turbo or right off of the intercooler... I have heard of many of them doing it after headgaskets, if the tube is oily when they put it back on it will pop right back off after a short while of boosting. But it should start even with that blown off, it will just run like crap..

If that tube is off it'll idle perfect... it's when you go to drive it'll drive like crap (slow).

Well its probably not the IC boot because the truck wont start.... right?

no....

it was running fine but I did notice a few times earlier today it surged a little at different times. It also idled weird once but then ran normal. Also, when I was pulling into the hood after work I thought it popped twice again but not as loud, but can't be positive as I had the stereo up. Although, once I got her home, that was the last time she would start. We'll see tomorrow.
Could I have blown the gaskets again? It's stock excluding the exhaust. I talked with the mechanic briefly about the problem and he said there is no way I could have blown the head gaskets but maybe that is why I felt the floor boards shake this morning when it first happened?

I'll try not to take that the wrong way.

I don't see that I have much choice now as another dealership might not take responsibility for the work of the first. This is a different tech and he's supposed to be really good.
