so I just bought a camper. a 32' Jayco TT and pulled for the first time in my X. This thing weighs in at about 8k. should the OD always be off when I Tow this? I never worried about it with the little 17' hybrid, but there is a big difference between the two.

I took it camping locally over the weekend to try it out and at 55mph, it was at 2300 RPM with the OD off. I'd really like to be able to drive at least 60-65 on the highway for the big trips!

Get some gauges and tow by them. watch your EGTs and tranny temp. If you can hang in OD and the truck is not hunting for a gear (poping in and out of OD) pull in OD but make sure you get some gauges! heat kills your tranny and that thing aint cheap (dont ask me how i know!)

with the mods in your sig you do not need to worry about heat that much.and with only 8k for sure.if it will pull it in od i would pull it in od.like tubular031 says make sure it in not hunting for gears.
