Just got truck back from being towed after it died. They got it running, said worn connectors on sensors.

New pig tails showed up yesterday.

Truck was running great until last night, started cutting out, bucking, made it home.

Changed ICP pig tail, no start.

Connected torque pro app, hpop builds pressure cranking (like to 3000psi) ipr duty cycle rises with hpop pressure, up to 48%.

I can see rpms while cranking on the app, still swapped in my spare cps.

Truck will occasionally fire, but only sort of stay running if I keep key in start position.

Checked continuity on the brown/white wire between icp and cps, it's not open.

Went to check it on pcm to icp, but no clue what pins are what, have to clean wires up some I suppose.

I am kinda stumped. Didn't check my fuel pressure this time, checked last week it was 55psi.

It's cold, but it's been plugged in and cold temps have never been an issue.

Batteries are on charger, good volts while cranking.

No one wants to work on it, starting to include me.

Has to be wiring someplace, trying to read schematic so I can start checking for resistance/bad wires.

Tired of walking 3 miles to work.

Looks like my main issue is either a wire grounding out or my idm.

P1219 and P1298 show up after a buzz test.

Time to look for that yellow wire with blue tracer on it.

Remove IDM and see if it has water in it.

Doesn't sound like CPS or ICP unless the ICP connector has oil in it.
I am headed to grab an IDM from a buddy and see if that's it. The Swamps IDM in my truck sure looks well sealed compared to a factory one. Only been in there about 4 years.

Now I got the whole picture.

Is the Hydra removed?

I'm curious to see how another IDM does. Make sure the tuner is removed so that can be ruled out.

Pulling that first, testing the wire that could be suspect according to code 1219, low CID.

Thanks

Not the hydra chip.

Now to test injector wiring.

Probably the stupid swamps IDM.

IDM swapped in, I get a p1111 which says all good for pcm, i don't get 1219 or 1298 anymore, but i now get a p1662 idm failure.

I guess i can put old back in and see if that is the only code i get again.

Grrrrrr

It started an idled this morning, any attempt at throttle caused it to die or cut out.

Had it towed to the only place I am confident in it being fixed correctly.

New IDM didn't change much, we spent a couple hours tracing circuits, checking all relays, under hood fuse blocks, etc. Everything checked out as it should.

Has to be PCM, buddy said it's only the second one go bad he has seen.

Does a new or used PCM have to be flashed/programmed to the truck? Only part I am unsure about.

Yes, a new pcm will have to be flashed to the truck. Probably a used one as well
I picked up a used pcm from a running truck on the cheap. I doubt ford will do this anymore, but a friend that owns a used car lot has a guy that can do it. Hopefully my truck is back on the road soon, it's my work truck and this last few weeks is killing me.
