ok, as a diesel newbie, from reading some of the threads seems like the K&N may not be so cool, that is what is on the truck I bought last week.
Any suggestions about returning to stock or another aftermarket system regarding cost and difficulty?
It does seem to have a 4" turbo back no kitty exhaust.

Thought about stock, will have to research cost of new from dealer, used from bone yard and probably find that something like the s&b will actually cost less and be easier to do.
Research will tell, truck has to last like all our rigs, youngest trade in / sell at 123000 miles.

Stock is your best bet. I know the stock system is sold out there at places other than the dealership. Ebay perhaps? I am trying to remember - I saw one other place mentioned ......

stopped at the dealer to pick up seat belt extenders and asked about the factory inlet system, major piece was $420!!! Looks like one of the better aftermarket systems would be easiest, anyone ever try fitting a better filter to the K&N plumbing?
