So i looked and couldnt find an answer to this. When people say for instance, 120v idm, are they saying they put in a 120v resistor?

No. there are different voltage idm's.
110s, 120s, and 140s. Personally, I'd buy a swamps idm because they've done A LOT of testing and r&d.

I made my Samsung SGH-I997 send this.

nope resistors are measured in ohms. charge is in volts, the mod is taking the voltage of the IDM to 140v and to do this we are replacing a resistor, Golfballs review on the org gives a good explanation here and then he references another guide on FTE here and the FTE guide later on in the thread he gives the resistor you need for each specific IDM as so

"Here they are:
IDM-100 uses a 75.0k Ohm (75,000 ohm) 1/2 watt 1% tolerance Metal Film resistor
IDM-110 uses a 75.0k Ohm (75,000) 1/2 watt 1% tolerance Metal Film resistor
IDM-120 uses a 73.2k Ohm (73,200) 1/2 watt 1% tolerance Metal Film resistor"

basically take one out put a different one in and it helps the injectors perform at their peak

Well how do you know which idm you have?

Look where the harness connects to the IDM and there will be a sticker that states "IDM-xxx" where xxx is the voltage. Since you are here in the OBS section of the .org most likely you have the 100v IDM.

if you read in the write ups it explains everything. the first picture shows the voltage value
