I have a 2000 F250 with a 6 Speed manual when the tempature outside is cold and I have the heater running the Idle jumps to just over 1000 RPM and holds there for a few minutes then back to normal Idle then a Few minutes later jumps again. If I press the clutch or the break pedal it also causes it to drop down again. Is this normal or not? I am new to diesel trucks, any info please?

That is the ebpv and computer trying to warm up your engine. Mine does it all the time in the winter. With muffler delete it will sound like a jet taking off. ha ha

I know the 05 and newer (maybe earlier years too) have a computer comtrolled high idle that bumps to 1000 in the right temp range. Totally normal.:thumb:
