Alright so I recently acquired a 99 E350 Shuttle bus conversion 26 feet long I think, anyways everything was replaced 10k ago except the engine it has 46k on it the previous owner needed it to NEVER brake down so when he got it with 180k on it he replaced everything. ANYWAYS it will be used in the city exclusively but being good for the environment and cheap are important.

So after looking between making my own biodiesel or running WVO I want to do WVO too much involved with biodiesel and I just don't want to mess with it.

Anyways I live in Vegas I have a lot of opportunities for great WVO to use and lots of it to get.

Anyways how well does the 7.3 PSD run of WVO mainly that is what I wanted to know are there different thoughts on the different filtering methods also as far as vehicle modifications I see a number of different systems on this board just not sure which one is best I live in Vegas so it never gets too cold but it does sometimes see temps of low 20's Ohhh and the vehicle has a wheelchair access lift so I can transport 55 gallon barrels of oil too which will be awesome.


Vehicle weight looks to be around 9800 pounds stock when I am done with outfitting it maybe 10000 or 11000 pounds total is this fine for WVO also like I said wont be towing ever and wont be used for road trips literally just puttering around town for work. Planned use about 15k a year hopefully more if business is good.

Any mileage difference in running of WVO vs Diesel previous owner said he got about 10-12 in town and about 12-12 on the highway due to its weight and shape.

put a 4" exhaust, do the 6637 (air filter) mod and get a chip your mileage will increase with just that, and get a set of gauges

Best system yes. Mine has almost 90k miles on veggie using a vegistroke V3.
There is a new version out vegiestroke V4 that has a more intuitive display alone with a few modifications.
As for your particular application I would contact Biofuelstechnoligies to see if they can adapt to your aplication.

And get a centrifuge gravity feed style preferable a Simple Centrifure or Absolute but if not those then last choice would be a WVO designs fuge.

The only filters i have are the barrels sieves and the filter on my V3 and i get 15k miles between changes.

If you are going to be doing a lot of idling you will at the very least want to make sure you have a high idle option. Short trips/in town driving can make maintaining proper engine temps a bit tricky. Idling in general is not great for diesels but when your doing it on straight veg, you might find more problems. My input is just based on research, I have not experienced it my self, but it makes sense to me. What the others have said is all true. If you want a fully automated kit, the only way to go is the V3/V4 and a gravity fed centrifuge for cleaning.
