Changed the oil in my 97 psd ,Filter will not draw down too seal.I dumped the first oil changed on the ground trying to start,I replaced the filter again this time got right in there with a light and noticed a large gap where the filter should be sealed. It is the proper filter. It acts as if the filter nipple has backed out so far it will not draw up, is this possible? If so how do you get it back in?Any ideas? In desperate need to get this going. Thanks

The gasket on the old filter may still be on the motor. I've seen this happen before.

Take the filter off and make sure that there is only ONE rubber gasket.

is it possible that it is now cross-threaded?? that could have been the orginal problem. Just asking to rule that out or give an idea of what could have gone wrong
