I have heard of guys blowing their turbos while pulling loads over a long period of time...........Being new to the diesel community and pulling a Travel Trailer, I have a couple of questions that maybe some of you old heads can answer.

Are there any early indications that point to turbo problems?

As long as you are getting turbo boost, does that mean your turbos are operating normally?

What should I hear and not hear when a turbo is functioning normally/abnormally.

Thanks a million.

Indications of problems would be abnormal noise like rattling or sqeeling. Low boost could be cause by other problems. The turbo is mechanical and should make a lot of noise when it goes out.

When you know it's bad it's bad.

take off the intake tube and check for play in the shaft by juggling it.
