I am new to F250 diesels. Previous trucks were F150 and Expedition. The hitch on my 2020 F250 does not accept my trailer’s safety chains easily. I bought bigger hooks but it made it worse.

How are other owners dealing with the design of the hitch and trailer safety chains?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I see a lot of folks use these. I did as well until I changed my hooks out. They are 6500 each/ 13k for the pair which was just shy of my GTWR but within actual weight.

I wanted to change my hooks out. 5/16 fits but it’s a PITA. I bought 3/8 hooks but they won’t work. What size hooks did you switch too?
They are 3/8 Curt clevis hooks. My truck is a '15 and my neighbors is a '18 and the hooks fit both. They won't fit if you try to attach them with the latch facing up. The latch has to face down.

Shackles work great. I bought stainless steel ones so no rust

I've had the same experience. The 3/8" just barely work if you put them in as pictured.
