Hey guys, I just bought a new (to me) 2001 F250. I noticed tonight that I have a broken leaf on the rear passenger side. The truck has VB code springs. I would like to add X codes in the front (eventually) because I might add a snow plow at some point. I think the current B code rear springs are standard on an F350 SRW? Should I just find some replacement B code rear springs or go with something else? I don't plan a lift on this truck, I'll probably never run anything larger than 285s. It currently has 265s on it.

Anyone nearby (CO) have an extra set of rear F350 springs laying around they don't need or a good local source for springs?

why not just go to a local spring shop and have them install a new leaf to each side?

I just went through this with my F250 I had 2 broken on the drivers side and one broken on the passenger side.. I ended up replacing 2 broken ones on the driver side and the same 2 leafs on the passenger side to keep it all even/equal

X2, also 4x4 shops and forums, get a adj track bar when you get your X codes.
Are the stock track bars different lengths depending on spring code? If they are it would probably be easier to just buy the track bar from ford at the same time. Then there would be no need to adjust it.
My 250 has the plow package in it and it has B codes in the rear. I don't see any reason to go heavier unless you plan to load a big sander on the back of it or regularly haul heavy loads.

Spring repair

Cj, how much did the spring repair cost? That might be a better way to go on the rear springs because they are in pretty good shape other than one broken leaf. It might save me some money I can use to get some X codes for the front.

they pulled both leaf packs left and right, tore them down checked the rest of the springs for fatigue, installed new bushings, replaced 2 springs per side and put them back together with new centering pins new u-bolts spring isolators (so they dont squeak rubbing steel on steel) out the door $450 Canadian
