2000 7.3 6 Speed truck shut off and when you start it back up it Will only run for a few seconds then shut off.

I have had the same problems as the post below me "99 intermittent. stall"

What do I need to check for. HPOP resistor is full. AE only shows speed sensor out of self test range.

Fuel delivery?

Is the tank below 1/4?

Maybe throw in a new filter, see what's in there, see how it refills...

Running out of fuel is one of the few things that a scanner won't be of much help. It doesn't set a code, there is no fuel pressure sensor. So, a plugged screens in the tank, cracked pick-up, clogged filter, dying pump all are, as far as the engine concerned, running out of fuel.

Did not think to check fuel level in filter bowl. Filter has about 6-7000 miles on it So yall might think this is a pump fuel failure? And yes I am due for an oil change.

Ok so I checked the oil level put a little over a quart in, checked fuses/relays. started it back up about 30 minutes of sitting there. Drove 1.5 miles to the next exit. filled up with fuel at the truck stop (there was @ 1/2 tank full) I changed to a Borg Warner cam sensor and run a few test with AE. Test came back good with the Borg cps (3&8 gave me a fault with the ford cps.) I did notice the magnet was bigger on the Borg cps.

I drove another 50 miles to my race, left there and got @60-70 miles from the race and started intermittently cutting out again.

I checked ICP sensor and it has oil in the connector, does that mean it is bad?

I did a run on my hot tune and icp. pressure. was 1458psi with a duty cycle of 65% I can't get icp above 2300 psi at any time.

At Idle: icp @470 duty cycle is 10%

by the way truck is at home.

Update

Ok so since this happened 2 weeks ago I have been driving the truck around town without a problem. I changed the ICP because the old one had oil in it, and I changed oil and filters.

so we hooked up the toyhauler to go to our race this weekend we got about 50 miles away from the house and the truck started hesitating/cutting off again. I hooked up AE and started recording. icp pressure, volts, ipr, and pps volts just drops straight off when the truck shuts off. The pedal position sensor stays the same.

I pulled into a gas station checked to see if I was getting fuel, hpop resivor everything was good. No codes pulled up.

We started the truck and went to take off and it died (did this twice) We sat there for about 20 minutes deciding whether we should go to the race or go home. So we headed home drove 50 miles in truck did not have 1 problem.

Is there anything else I should look for before I look for a new truck?

Would low fuel pressure make the truck just cut completely off. The truck runs fine other than the hesitation/cutting off
