Thanks to all of the priceless information on this forum I was able to be well informed when shopping for a solid 6.0 and because people are perhaps overly afraid of them, I was able to get a killer deal on an '06 that looks brand new. So THANK YOU FELLOW 'STROKERS (hehheh oops) I'm proud and happy to be a part of this community and couldn't be happier with my new best friend!
I'm a builder. Jack of all trades... Building trades, mechanic, welder/fabricator, carpenter, I've done just about everything that's ever interested me, and I love to keep learning.
Not entirely new to diesels. My first was an 83 6.2 Silverado that I bought 6 years ago. It was my dream truck since I was in high school, back when they weren't so old
... Wanted to get int diesel to start making my own biodiesel and keep my money out of some greedy a-hole's pocket. Be responsible for myself and my means. Haven't quite got around to making biodiesel yet but the possibility is there, and if the ol' monkey dung ever hits the proverbial fan, I think I'll be a lot better off.
Anyway GM ain't what it used to be and the whole bailout thing really made me lose respect for them, especially after leaving Detroit high and dry. Ford started two blocks from my old shop in highland park (detroit), and they still have a strong presence. Add to that fords' tough truck rep and a bunch of friends with powerstrokes and I've been slowly converting now for a few years.
