Hi all.
Im looking to add cab lights to my truck as well as do the clear headlight mod.
Is there a certain combination of brands that looks the best? I've looked all over the org and cant really seem to find an answer to this seems that LMC is popular though. The next question though is that will standard cab lights hold up as strobes or is that a whole different ball game. Thanks

I would get headlights off of ebay, there is a good selection. As far as cab lights if you are going with clear headlights, LMC has clear cab lights and they are LED. That would match up nicely. Can't help ya on the strobe part, haven't got a clue.

^^I like the look on your truck. What brand are those headlights and are those the LMC clear marker lights?

I am not sure on the brand, bought them off ebay. And no they are just stock Ford clearance lights. I would like to get the LMC lights someday. My headlights are smoked btw, not clear.

Well I checked the laws and there doesnt seem to be any problem with strobe lights as long as they're amber. The only reason I want them is for escorting farm equiptment and hauling some stuff down the road. With as clueless as some drivers are these days I like to have as many lights as possible.

These are ebay $88 ones. A pain to adjust, but came with the adjusters already attached. The LEDs, are four amber 194, and two 3417A Amber
about $40 for the LEDs

Thanks man your truck looks good.

As far as the cab lights go are these the LMC ones that are popular?

Cab Roof Light Kits | 1957-72 F100 - F250 | LMC Truck

I know it says for an older Ford truck but im assuming the wiring is relatively universal and would these match with the body style of the OBS?

What about the OBS clearance lights. They are the just like the stock lights, but clear. Part# 49-3721,Truck Parts and Truck Accessories . IMO they would look way better than any other light. I just installed a set a month or two ago, they are pretty good quality, the wiring they come with is junk, it comes with some wire and scotch locks. We used a Ford clearance light harness, made it as close to factory as possible. To make your own all you need is some red wire and some black and some splices. You can wire them into the factory harness if you make your own harness, there is a plug in on the passenger side behind the kick panel. The harness we used was out of an 87-91 so the plugs didn't match up and we cut them off and just spliced it together.

Thanks for that link. I tried to find something like that but couldn't. How do you think it would look if I were to put on those clear cab lights but waited to to the clear headlight mod. Would it match ok or look off?

Also do you think there would still be a way to have them operate with the running light switch and be able to put a strobe control module on it? As ridiculous as it seems I escort alot of farm equiptment and pull some weird trailers down the road and want the extra lighting but dont want to get a light bar.

It will look ok, the set I put on had stock headlights and looked pretty good, IMO. I have no idea about strobes at all, so I haven't got a clue.

Here is a pic of the lights I installed. I don't think they look bad with the headlights.

I am not sure if they are made for the OBS Fords, but check out Atomic LED (www.atomicled.com). For about $350, you can get cab lights that are all amber LED when the running lights are on, and with a switch, turn on the strobe function. Color choices are red, blue, and amber. I am a volunteer fire fighter, and since I hate the light bars and want something that isnt visible when off, i have these on mine. Easy to wire, and they are friggin bright!!

Looks like they only have SD lights. Those are kind of pricey, but they are pretty cool.

Yeah Ive seen those before and thats esentially what I want to do. But I also dont want to drop $350 on it haha. Trust me I wish I could. I have been trying to figure out how to run the wiring for a homemade strobe kit in my head but havent been able to make sense of it all yet. It would be awesome to get my truck blinkers going along with it too.
