Ever since I was messing with my Auto Hubs trying to find the leak in them I have not had heat anywhere other than defrost. So I went ahead and did a bunch of testing throughout the vacuum system and I think I have found my culprit. It seems that the solenoid that controls the vacuum for the hubs has a bad seal or something in it and it will no longer hold a vacuum. I went ahead and removed it from the system and plugged its line and i now have heat from the defrost to the floor.

I went ahead and tried to use the part number on the side of the solenoid on Powerstroke Shop's website but it comes up with nothing. So does anyone know the correct part number for this part and if it sounds like it is my problem? Is there anything that can be done to fix the solenoid or is it junk? Lastly is there anything else that I should test before I deem the solenoid the culprit or does it seem like I have it?

The number that I found on the part is F81A-9H465-BA319D0575. I might be off on a couple of the letter/numbers because it looks like someone used and engraver to put the number in the plastic.

Thanks,
Mike

just bring it to a ford dealership and goto parts and get a new one i'm pretty sure its something you can't just open up in fix most likely they don't make parts to fix that anyway...

I replaced mine a couple years ago, My ford parts guy had no problem finding it and ordering it. Seems like it wasn’t real expensive, maybe $50 or so. I now have it unplugged so I can use Low range and stay unlocked for backing trailers. When I need 4x4 I just manually lock the hubs.
