Hello, this forum has been lots of help over the years, and I’ve never had a huge issue until now so I decided to make an account in hopes That someone could help me. I’ve dug and dug and haven’t seen anything with this combination of symptoms.

Bone stock engine wise other than TS performance 6 setting chip

I’ll try to keep this story short. I noticed about a week ago that my truck had a slight knock to it. Did a little digging and listening to videos and determined it was the typical #8 injector going out. The truck still ran decent (not perfect, but decent). I noticed more fuel consumption though. This truck is my only means of transportation other than a harley right now so Fast forward a few days and I was climbing a steep twisty mountain road pretty quickly like I normally do with it when I go that way, and it pulled it like a champ. Then about 5 mins later, I come to a stop sign and it starts dead missing like it’s running on 2 cylinders. No power at all. I had it to the floor and was barely able to maintain 40mph. It wasn’t knocking when it was missing, just bad power and TONS of black smoke. I was about 2 minutes from my relatives house so I parked it for a few minutes there and started it back up and it was hard to start and still missing. Engine temp, tranny temps, etc were all good. Oil pressure was good. Well I had to get home so I chanced it after 20 minutes of waiting and drove it down the road with the ts turned back onto stock setting to cut back on dumping fuel into the cylinders. Pulled over about 5 miles down the road and let it idle and it straightened back out. Got down the mountain with it running fine and by the time I got to town, it missed again With more black smoke and no power. I figured it was a bad electrical connection in the valve cover so I pulled the covers and the passenger side harness was slightly backed out. Replaced the gaskets, all new motorcraft glow plugs went in too since I was in there. The old harness was brittle and a plug broke Off in one of the injectors so I had to pull it to get it out. Replaced the o rings with oem to be safe. Bolted everything back up and went to crank it and sounded like the starter was grinding and popping and then it was still hard to start but once it was started, oil was pouring out of the exhaust and up pipes. Blue smoke, white smoke, black smoke, you name it. Thought it may just be where some got into the cylinder and needed to be burnt out. Drove it down the road and it looked like every ounce of oil was burning out the rear end there was so much blue smoke. Got back and checked the fluids and they were all fine, no oil in water or water in oil, no fuel mixed (from what I could tell). Checked all my gauges again and everything was fine. Crazy thing is, even with it smoking like it was, it had excellent power and throttle response, no misfire, nothing. Just smoking when accelerating. Now, today I decide to start it and see what happens. It’s hard to start, runs good for about a minute or two then dead miss again. The miss was intermittent the other day like I said. Pull over, let it idle for a few mins and it'll straighten out. Now I can’t get it to straighten out once it starts. It still smokes When it’s missing if you give it throttle (black) but no blue or white from what I can tell. It throws a cel when it’s missing And doesn’t when it isn’t. I’ve tried pulling codes off this truck before and it doesn’t work. Took it to advance, autozone, O’Reilly a while back for an IPR issue and none could pull codes off their best scanners. I’d take it to a dealer but wouldn’t make it and I really don’t want to drive it 40 miles missing like this to the nearest ford dealer. So my question is.. is this a dead injector, blown head gasket, bad hpop, or something else? This is my dads old truck that he passed down to me and I’d really like to keep it on the road. Thanks in advance!

Update! Pulled the valve cover on the passenger side and gave it some throttle to make it miss and went to look with a flashlight to check for a dead injector but found that none were firing when it was missing. After idling for 30 seconds it would straighten back out and all 4 would fire and shoot oil back out the exhaust.
