The other day my truck started to skip a little. It would lose power and if i let off it would die. If I stayed in the throttle it would stay at about 1000 rpms then slowly rev up (about 15 seconds from 1000 rpms to 2000 rpms) At that time there was no smoke, none at all. It does smoke for about 20 seconds on a cold start. (its been 30 degrees here at night the last couple weeks) But now it starts like a *****, and at first it doesn't want to idle. Then it smooths out a little and idles okay. But when you try to rev it up there is little to no throttle responce. When you step on the throttle it revs up very very very slowly. (about 35-45 seconds from idle to 2000 rpms. When it hits 2000 rpms it skips a little but goes to 3500 rpms like normal.) But it smokes a ton while reving up. Its blue smoke and smells like diesel. What it the world causes this?
Its a 97, 5 speed, F250, has a down pipe and exhaust, and has an intake. Other than that its bone stock. Thanks for your help.
In my signature it says resistor mod and fpr mod, never did either of those!! I was going to but read bad things so changed my mind.
